Broccoli is taken to a whole new level thanks to a “low and slow” cooking method for a side dish that melts in your mouth
Ingredients
- 1 lb broccoli
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup white wine or vegetable broth
Steps
- Cut the broccoli florets into medium pieces. Then peel the stalks and cut into 2-inch pieces. Add both the florets and stalks to a Dutch oven, along with the garlic, oil, and wine. Season with salt and pepper.
- Heat mixture to a simmer on high. Half-cover with a lid and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, 55–60 min., until broccoli is cooked down and most of the liquid has evaporated. Mash the garlic cloves into mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
